August 18th, 2012 - Comments Off

In addition to the Decalogue, or Ten Commandments, the Catholic Church has six precepts, or rules, for membership. They include the following:

  1. Go to Mass on Sundays and attend the other established holy days of obligation; i.e. Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday, and Ascension.
  2. Observe the days of fasting as established by the Church.
  3. Go to confession at least one time a year.
  4. Communion

    Holy Eucharist

  5. Receive the Holy Eucharist, or Communion, the round Tostito-tortilla-chip-looking thing, at least one time a year especially during Easter season.
