ROME, Italy — Reports said five Bosnian nuns were beatified. The nuns were killed by kidnappers in December 1941. The beatification was administered by Cardinal Angelo Amato, the head of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints.
The nuns were Maria Jula Ivaniševic, Maria Berchmana Leidenix, Maria Krizina Bojanc, Maria Antonija Fabjan and Maria Bernadeta Banja. Daughters of Divine Charity paid tribute to the recently beatified nuns who were members of their congregation.
