AUSTIN, Texas — A longtime priest at a local church in Austin reportedly died Monday at age 90.

The Rev. Bob Scott was known variously at St. Austin Catholic Church as the “jock priest” for his passion for sports, as the beloved priest with the signature homily “The Good Stop,” and as the spiritual leader called to be with Lady Bird Johnson during her final moments.

Those who knew Fr. Scott said he was all those things and more, but there was one overriding constant.
